⠀⠀The ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent/snake or dragon eating its own tail. Often interpreted as a symbol for eternal cyclic renewal or a cycle of life, death and rebirth. The skin-shedding process of snakes symbolizes the transmigration of souls (Metempsychosis). Originating in ancient Egyptian iconography, the ouroboros entered western tradition via Greek magical tradition and was adopted as a symbol in Gnosticism and Hermeticism and most notably in alchemy.
⠀⠀In alchemy, the ouroboros represents the spirit of Mercury (the substance that permeates all matter), and symbolizes continuous renewal (a snake is often a symbol of resurrection, as it appears to be continually reborn as it sheds its skin), the cycle of life and death, and harmony of opposites

⠀⠀The famous ouroboros drawing from the early alchemical text,
"The Chrysopoeia of Cleopatra", probably originally dating to third century Alexandria, encloses the words "hen to pan" (ἓν τὸ πᾶν), "THE ALL IS ONE". Its two halves represent the Gnostic duality of existence, analogous to the Taoist yin and yang symbol. The chrysopoeia ouroboros of "Cleopatra the Alchemist" is one of the oldest images of the ouroboros to be linked with the legendary opus of the alchemists, known as "The Philosopher's Stone"...
⠀⠀The two infinity symbols together signify perfection. Each figure represents a separate zone of infinity - one representing infinite space, and one representing infinite time, individually owning their significance but together achieving perfection. A double ouroboros (two creatures swallowing one another) is distinct from that of the single ouroboros, and signifies alchemical volatility & rapid change. Spiritually, it signifies the balance of the upper & lower natures, and the infinite perfection & oneness of all things
